Structure and properties of CY7 Cyanine7

Cyanine 7 is a near-infrared fluorescent dye commonly used in biomarker and fluorescent staining experiments. It is an azo compound with an azo group and an aromatic ring with seven carbon atoms.

The structure of Cyanine7 is shown below:

CH3(CH2)2N(CH3)2 N=N C6H3CH2CH=CHCH2CH3

Its chemical name is indocarbocyanine-7. Cyanine7 has a longer wavelength and lower background signal and is suitable for near-infrared fluorescence imaging.

Key properties of Cyanine7 include:

1. Fluorescence properties: Cyanine 7 has maximum absorption and emission peaks at light in the wavelength range of 750-800 nm and can therefore be used for near-infrared fluorescence staining and imaging.

2. Solubility: Cyanine 7 is readily soluble in a number of organic solvents such as DMSO and methanol.

3. Chemical reactivity: The amino group in Cyanine 7 is highly reactive and can condense with substances containing carboxyl or aldehyde groups to form stable amide or imine bonds.

4. Biocompatibility: Cyanine 7 is relatively organism-friendly and can be labeled in cells and tissues for fluorescence microscopy observation and analysis.

In conclusion, Cyanine7 is a commonly used near-infrared fluorescent dye with good fluorescence properties and chemical reactivity for biomarker and fluorescent staining experiments.
