Description:

Hydroxy polyethylene glycol azide (HO-PEG-N3) is one of the bifunctional PEG derivatives. Azide can modify terminal acetylene under the action of monovalent copper catalyst. PEG derivatives can be used for targeted drug research and are widely used in protein carriers and ligand crosslinking. Azide groups are prone to react with linear alkyne groups under the catalysis of copper catalysts. It can also react directly with DBCO without any catalyst. At the same time, amino groups can also react with carboxylic acids, succinimide NHS esters, aldehydes and many other amino groups. The PEG linker between azides and amine groups has good water solubility, small steric hindrance, and enhanced stability. Azides can also react with strain promoted cyclic octynes without the need for any catalyst. The reaction between azides and alkynes can quickly and effectively bind PEG chains to target molecules or particles.
